How to Answer the Greatest Weakness Interview Question
Step by step instructions to Answer the Best Weakness Interview Question Step by step instructions to Answer the Best Weakness Interview Question This basic inquiry question can confuse an applicant. Get ready ahead and expert the interview. Among the conceivable inquiries questions, the best shortcoming inquiry question causes general fear in most employment competitors. Truth be told, the more qualified an applicant is, the higher the level of fear. What is your most prominent shortcoming? Consider your own previous meetings and how you may have responded to this inquiry previously. On the off chance that you have never been asked, consider what your reaction would be at the present time. Run of the mill answers fall thusly: I am somewhat of an obsessive worker, so I tend to take on an excessive amount of work. I am a stickler and an overachiever. I don't rest until each task is finished, twofold checked and gave a bow on top in front of calendar. I buckle down, at times to the point of giving up rest and ends of the week to ensure each cutoff time is met. I am not pointing fingers at anybody specifically. Indeed, I have actually been blameworthy of utilizing some minor departure from every one of the three of these previously. Presently, a fair round of votes: Who here really accepts those most noteworthy shortcoming meeting answers? If I somehow managed to figure, I would state that you don't trust them yourself as you are stating them. Indeed, these are nearly as terrible as the most exceedingly awful conceivable answer, which is Weakness? What's that? I have no shortcomings! The issue with the commonplace answer A definitive issue with the manner in which most up-and-comers answer this inquiry is that they attempt to lie. Without a doubt, there may be a piece of truth in these run of the mill reactions. Nonetheless, the competitor for the most part either discusses something that is genuinely insignificant for the activity (I make some hard memories separating from innovation in the nighttimes) or picks a shortcoming that could be seen as a quality (who here wouldn't like to employ a persevering diligent employee?). Tragically, the two procedures to handling the best inquiry question leave the recruiting administrator disappointed. Above all else, questioners can tell when you're lying. Furthermore, second, they posed that inquiry was to get some legitimate knowledge into what your identity is and how you manage troubles. Your phony answer never really position you as an extraordinary up-and-comer. The triumphant answer system The way in to a triumphant reaction system is in understanding why the employing director gets some information about your shortcomings. There are ordinarily two integral explanations for it. Reason number one is to see whether you have enough mindfulness and understanding to recognize that you have something you have to deal with. Reason number two is to decide whether you are proactive and strong enough to deal with improving. In the event that you comprehend those two focuses and can respond to the inquiry genuinely and insightfully, what you state next can possibly lift you above different competitors and land you the position offer. OK like an applied model? How about we imagine that you are talking with me for a bookkeeping administrator position, and you have recently asked me the feared What is your most noteworthy shortcoming? question. Fortunate for me, I have thought about it ahead of time. Here is a case of a key reaction I may state: That is an incredible inquiry. To be completely forthright, I will in general put cutoff times and work objectives in front of individuals once in a while. For instance, over the most recent 2 years, I have seen myself turning out to be brief and rigid when my colleagues couldn't convey their reports on schedule. I as a rule appreciate great affinity with my group, so those occurrences truly stood apart for me and I began to focus. As I considered what was going on, I understood that my unexpectedness and absence of adaptability were really causing a fracture among me and the remainder of the group. As a cutoff time drew closer, even the individuals who might commonly come into my office to share an issue or a test would start to stay away from me. That was not valuable, so I searched out some direction from my chief. As we discussed this, I understood that I was regarding all cutoff times as similarly dire when in truth they were definitely not. As it were, I was making a great deal of criticalness and weight as far as I could tell, and that was converting into more weight for my group. I needed to change this dynamic, and with my guide's assistance, I have actualized two changes. Above all else, I turned into much progressively present to how my manner and disposition towards cutoff times influenced my group. Cutoff times are a truth of work life, however I would prefer not to be a significant supporter of their pressure since I can't oversee myself. I began a following sheet of tasks by colleague with the goal that I would have a reference point for their outstanding burden. I additionally got proactive in getting some information about advancement and foreseen difficulties. I found that by concentrating on individuals I had the option to open the correspondence lines and eventually fulfill time constraints with less pressure. The second thing I did was focus on how senior individuals in the organization managed cutoff times. I have been honored to have directors who are brilliant at vital evaluation. They appear to simply know which cutoff times are genuine and not mobile, and which ones are progressively adaptable. As I gain from them and work to explain desires, I am showing signs of improvement at the harmony between completing work and dealing with my group. What do you think? In truth, I have had the advantage of a calm space to thoroughly consider my reaction and structure it in a significant manner. Your own answer will appear to be unique, yet how about we analyze what makes this one work. Analyzing achievement There are four factors that make my most prominent shortcoming meeting answer seem to be all around created, mindful and a pointer that I am a decent contender for the activity. It is straightforward. What's more, not on the grounds that I utilized that word to open the reaction, either! I set aside the effort to ponder things that can possibly attack my expert adequacy and thought of a genuine answer that isn't only a quality in mask. It exhibits that I have the limit with respect to seeing my disappointments. Employing supervisors realize that everybody has shortcomings, yet it is one's capacity to perceive a deficiency that frames the initial move towards progress. It shows that I can make proactive strides towards fixing it. We as a whole face troublesome things in the working environment, from a task not finished adequate to an email that gets a censure accordingly. The inquiry is, do you disintegrate and gripe about it, or do you assume liability to fix it? It doesn't simply inform the questioner regarding my shortcoming it recounts to a story. I carried the employing chief alongside me on an excursion that had a passionate plunge and a recuperation. Our cerebrums are wired to romantic tales, so make a story to show your point for greatest effect. Takeaways There are three key focuses that I need you to recall as you consider this intense most noteworthy shortcoming inquiry question. Most importantly, be straightforward That doesn't mean proclaiming the primary thing that rings a bell, but instead thinking about it and picking something genuine. Definitely, be vital all things considered, you will probably situate yourself as an incredible applicant. Be that as it may, start with a fair self-appraisal. Second, anticipate the question and get ready for it I can't ensure that you will get this one in your next meeting, however it is one that can be hard to reply on the spot. Thus, don't call yourself out. You have been cautioned thoroughly consider your reaction ahead of time. Start to plan something proactive for fix your most prominent shortcoming before you even start meeting Contingent upon your own kryptonite right now, taking a shot at it might include taking a class, searching out coaches, and requesting all the more without a moment to spare input. The most noticeably awful thing you can do is nothing since that leaves you with no advancement to report. In this way, be straightforward, be prepared and chip away at fixing it and you will expert this extreme inquiry quickly! Getting yourself confused when you experience addresses this way? 5 Interview Questions Every Leader Should Ask - Workology 5 Interview Questions Every Leader Should Ask The best candidates have qualifications that are more than skills-deep. Discovering these qualities in the interview process is difficult. But moving past impression and into reality is crucial to hiring the right peopleâ"that is, people that not only have the skills, knowledge, and experience to do the job, but also the abstract qualities that will allow them to succeed in the culture of your organization. In an interesting way, the interview process has a lot in common with well-known dating apps. Recruiters are our Tinder. They swipe left on candidates that are not compatible at a surface level, those that lack the skills, knowledge, or experience we are looking for. There are those the recruiters swipe right on, though. These are the candidates that appear to meet the job requirements and have potential to be a strong candidate. Swipe right, but know there is still significant work to do to find your perfect match. After the recruiter swipes right, the candidate is moved into a smaller pool of potential suitors, but we still have a lot of filtering to do. Obviously, not everyone we swipe right on will be a match. But, maybe within that smaller pool there is the person that not only meets the general requirements, but also has that certain je ne sais quoi we are looking for. Because our culture is a reflection of what we value, we believe if we look for these values in our candidates, and hire those who display these values, then those we bring onto the team will be more likely to flourish within our organization. Of course, discovering these things requires filtering through first impressions and candidates putting their best foot forward. At Kabbage, we have created a series of questions, asked in our final panel interview, to do just that. 5 Interview Questions Every Leader Should Ask Here are five of the questions we ask to help us understand how candidates think about themselves, how they think about others, and the way they generally think through problems. 1. What are three negative personal qualities that someone close to you would say you possess? This question tells us a lot about self-awareness and feeds into our core value of transparency. We are looking for candidates that not only understand what their true negatives are, but also those that are willing to admit them. There are a number of unacceptable answers here. We donât allow answers like, âIâm a perfectionistâ or âworkaholicâ or other positives-disguised-as-negatives. When we get answers like that, we buzz the candidate (with actual buzzers) and ask them to try again. There have also been occasions where weâve had them âphone a friendâ. If they are unable to come up with 3 negatives on their own, their spouse or mother is usually a helpful source of information! 2. We ask them to add two fractions. For example, we might ask, âWhat is ¾ plus ½?â This question elicits some of the best responses. What we are looking for is insight into how they handle an unexpected question/situation. This isnât really about math skills; we are fine with them grabbing their phone to use the calculator or to google the answer. At Kabbage, our days are rarely predictable. We are looking to see how they handle the curve ball. Do they panic? Blurt out a lot of wrong answers? Do they freeze and get stuck? Do they give up? One of our core values is innovation; we need to know people we hire are resourceful, capable of thinking outside of the box, and quick on their feet. 3. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the absolute best in the world at your role, where would you rate yourself? And what separates you from being a 10? Like the first question, this also tells us about a candidateâs self-awareness. This also leads to discussions about growth, ambition, and whether they aspire to be the best. As one of our core values is winning, how a candidate answers this question is extremely important to us. While they might not rate themselves as 10s across the board (thereâs nothing wrong with humble confidence), we want to know why and what they are doing to get there. 4. Finish this sentence for me: Most people I meet are _______. One of our core values is caring deeply, so it is important we understand how a potential new team member views others. The only answer that is off limits is âinterestingâ; because it really doesnât tell us anything. And weâve found that it might also be a code for something negative in disguise. We want to understand how candidates think about and value other people and an answer like this is just too vague and open for interpretation. 5. Give me the first name of someone with whom you work very closely? This, too, ties into caring deeply. If a candidate answers this question quickly and is able to answer several of the follow up questions, we can glean that they are good at building relationships at work. It also helps us to understand whether this person will be committed to the Kabbage community. We want to hire people who will take ownership, not only of the products we create and offer, but also the environment and culture in which we work. Bottom Line Its Not Just About Qualifications Interviewing to discover who will succeed in your organization is a crucial component to hiring well. Many will have the skills and qualifications you are looking for, but only a few will be the right fit. We are looking for the right person for the job within the context of our organizationâs culture. You can discover a good fit in the interview process if you focus on your values, develop specific questions to uncover a potential new hireâs values, and assess the ways in which you align.

When the line between machine and artist becomes blurred
At the point when the line among machine and craftsman gets obscured At the point when the line among machine and craftsman gets obscured With AI getting consolidated into more parts of our day by day lives, from writing to driving, it's just normal that craftsmen would likewise begin to explore different avenues regarding counterfeit intelligence. In actuality, Christie's will sell its first bit of AI workmanship not long from now â" an obscured face named Representation of Edmond Belamy. The piece being sold at Christie's is a piece of another rush of AI craftsmanship made by means of AI. Paris-based craftsmen Hugo Caselles-Dupré, Pierre Fautrel and Gauthier Vernier took care of thousands of pictures into a calculation, educating it the feel of past instances of likeness. The calculation at that point made Representation of Edmond Belamy. The painting is not the result of a human brain, Christie's prominent in its see. It was made by man-made consciousness, a calculation characterized by [an] logarithmic formula. If man-made reasoning is utilized to make pictures, can the last item truly be thought of as workmanship? O ught to there be a limit of impact over the last item that a craftsman needs to wield? As the chief of the Art AI Lab at Rutgers University, I've been grappling with these inquiries â" explicitly, where the craftsman ought to surrender credit to the machine. The machines take on workmanship classOver the most recent 50 years, a few craftsmen have composed PC projects to create craftsmanship â" what I call algorithmic workmanship. It requires the craftsman to compose definite code with a real visual result in mind. One of the soonest experts of this structure is Harold Cohen, who composed the program AARON to deliver drawings that kept a lot of rules Cohen had created. But the AI workmanship that has developed over the recent years joins AI technology.Artists make calculations not to adhere to a lot of rules, yet to learn a particular tasteful by dissecting a large number of pictures. The calculation at that point attempts to create new pictures in adherence to the feel it has learned. To start, the craftsman picks an assortment of pictures to take care of the calculation, a stage I call pre-curation.For the reason for this model, suppose the craftsman picks conventional representations from the previous 500 years. Most of the AI works of art that have risen in the course of recent years have utilized a class of calculations called generative antagonistic systems. First presented by PC researcher Ian Goodfellow in 2014, these calculations are classified ill-disposed on the grounds that there are different sides to them: One produces arbitrary pictures; different has been educated, by means of the info, how to pass judgment on these pictures and regard which best line up with the input. So the pictures from the previous 500 years are taken care of into a generative AI calculation that attempts to impersonate these data sources. The calculations at that point return with a scope of yield pictures, and the craftsman must filter through them and select those the person wishes to utilize, a stage I call post-curation.So there is a component of innovativeness: The craftsman is associated with pre-and post-curation. The craftsman may likewise change the calculation varying to produce the ideal outputs. When making AI workmanship, the craftsman's hand is associated with the determination of info pictures, tweaking the calculation and afterward looking over those that have been created. Ahmed Elgammal, Author providedSerendipity or malfunction? The generative calculation can deliver pictures that shock even the craftsman directing the process. For model, a generative antagonistic system being taken care of representations could wind up creating a progression of distorted faces. What should we make of this?Psychologist Daniel E. Berlyne has examined the brain research of feel for a very long while. He found that curiosity, shock, unpredictability, uncertainty and erraticism will in general be the most remarkable improvements in works of art. When took care o f pictures from the most recent five centuries, an AI generative model can let out twisted appearances. Ahmed Elgammal, Author providedThe produced representations from the generative ill-disposed system â" with the entirety of the twisted appearances â" are positively novel, astounding and bizarre. They additionally bring out British metaphorical painter Francis Bacon's renowned distorted pictures, for example, Three Studies for a Portrait of Henrietta Moraes.'Three Studies for the Portrait of Henrietta Moraes,' Francis Bacon, 1963. MoMABut there's something missing in the twisted, machine-made faces: intent. While it was Bacon's purpose to make his appearances distorted, the disfigured faces we find in the case of AI workmanship aren't really the objective of the craftsman nor the machine. What we are taking a gander at are occasions in which the machine has neglected to appropriately impersonate a human face, and has rather let out some astounding deformities.Yet this is actually the kind of picture that Christie's is auctioning.A type of theoretical artDoes this result truly demonstrate an absence of intent?I would contend that the purpose lies all the while, regardless of whether it doesn't show up in the last image. For model, to make The Fall of the House of Usher, craftsman Anna Ridler took stills from a 1929 film variant of the Edgar Allen Poe short story The Fall of the House of Usher. She made ink drawings from the still edges and took care of them into a generative model, which created a progression of new pictures that she at that point orchestrated into a short film.Another model is Mario Klingemann's The Butcher's Son, a bare representation that was produced by taking care of the calculation pictures of stick figures and pictures of pornography. On the left: A still from 'The Fall of the House of Usher' by Anna Ridler. On the right: 'The Butcher's Son' by Mario Klingemann.I utilize these two guides to show how craftsmen can truly play with these A I devices in any number of ways. While the last pictures may have astonished the specialists, they didn't appear suddenly: There was a procedure behind them, and there was unquestionably a component of intent.Nonetheless, many are distrustful of AI workmanship. Pulitzer Prize-winning workmanship pundit Jerry Saltz has said he finds the craftsmanship created by AI craftsman exhausting and dull, including The Butcher's Son.Perhaps they're right at times. In the distorted representations, for instance, you could contend that the subsequent pictures aren't too intriguing: They're extremely just impersonations â" with a curve â" of pre-curated inputs. But it's not just about the last picture. It's about the innovative procedure â" one that includes a craftsman and a machine teaming up to investigate new visual structures in progressive ways. For this explanation, I have presumably this is theoretical workmanship, a structure that goes back to the 1960s, wherein the thought behind the wo rk and the procedure is a higher priority than the outcome. As for The Butcher's Son, one of the pieces Saltz mocked as boring? It as of late won the Lumen Prize, a prize devoted for craftsmanship made with technology. As much as certain pundits would censure the pattern, it appears that AI craftsmanship is here to stay.Ahmed Elgammal, Professor of Computer Vision, Rutgers UniversityThis article is republished from The Conversation under a Creative Commons permit. Improve Leadership Skills
Improve Leadership Skills Improve Leadership Skills Improve Leadership Skills Blanchard Many individuals get some information about driving in extreme occasions and overseeing in a downturn. I help them to remember these three obvious standards: A pioneer ought to be a conveyor of expectation. Be certain and hopeful. At the point when assurance goes down, dont walk out on the truth. Consider yourself a central otherworldly official. I leave a message each morning at my organization for representatives that incorporates three things: I advise individuals who to appeal to God for, acclaim individuals for their endeavors and I incorporate a persuasive message about how were pushing ahead as an organization that is reliable with our fundamental beliefs. Concentrate on what individuals can develop. The mind and the PC are similar both dont know the distinction between reality and what you let them know. As pioneer, you must keep them straight. Pull together individuals on what can develop. Offer what you know with them, regardless of whether its the cautious piece of the procedure of cost-cutting measures. On the off chance that you do, they won't be so on edge. Treat representatives as colleagues. Top chiefs regularly work away from plain view, which plunges spirit. Recall that none of us is more intelligent than us all. Show individuals how to peruse a monetary record. Enable individuals with data. Southwest Airlines did that they requested thoughts on the best way to build income and got some good thoughts from their representatives that have formed their companys image and achievement. Utilize your kin as colleagues. Its said that ten to fifteen percent of an associations imperativeness originates from key administration. The rest is operational. In the event that individuals dont know your system, theyll center around how theyre being dealt with. What's more, if theyre not being treated in a way that energizes their soul, theyre not going to be energetic about what they do. Another organization that has been fruitful with these standards is Chick-fil-A where director turnover is under two percent. How would they do it? They train their administrators with this SERVE abbreviation: See and shape what's to come Draw in and build up your kin Re-design persistently dont get buried in approach Worth the two individuals and results Epitomize the qualities To be honest, the issue with initiative is frequently the human sense of self. Top chiefs build up a misguided feeling of pride in their administration style that makes them think theyre above everything. The other issue is uncertainty or dread when individuals feel that theyre short of what, they become too unreliable to even think about speaking up. A counteractant for both is quietude. Individuals dont need to consider less themselves, they simply need to consider themselves less. I lead Egos Anonymous classes with top administrators everywhere enterprises. During these gatherings, individuals volunteer to share their uncertainty and bogus pride. We take a shot at developing a faith in unqualified love whether its from God or not the sort of affection that you give your children. It begins at home with how we treat those nearest to us. Regarding your children as subordinates is bogus pride. Not calling your life partner to state youll be late is bogus pride. Its about changing yourself first and having a worker heart. Similarly, its about how your organization culture treats its own laborers. Garry Ridge, the leader of WD-40 Company, changed their companys progressive system to an inborn culture. The term invokes a picture of individuals lounging around the fire with seniors, offering data to more youthful network individuals. By and by, its about structure cross-utilitarian groups that develop a we mindset, as opposed to us versus them. Individuals now and then mistake hireling administration for delicate administration abilities. Hireling initiative isn't about the detainees running the jail its the main successful approach to lead. Administration is the vision, heading, qualities and objectives. Supervisors should yell out where the organization is going. The duty of your companys progressive system is to set the vision and move it to usage. Rationally, its about flipping around the pyramid with the goal that everybody is working for the client. That is the worker part of hireling authority. I urge directors to be called as opposed to driven. Recollect that your activities have a far reaching influence that is boundless in its latent capacity, both great and terrible. Exhibit regard in the entirety of your own collaborations and youll develop an establishment of worker believe that will float your organization through these difficult occasions and position it for future achievement. How To Ace A Walk-in Panel Job Interview
How To Ace A Walk-in Panel Job Interview 51 With a little preparation anyone can perform well in a group or panel job interview. Here are some of the most important tips for panel interview success, what to do and what not to do. This article is a guest post by Joyce K. Babu of Joycebabu.com. If youâd also like to guest post here on JobMob, follow these guest post guidelines. Free bonus: The One Job Interview Resource Youâll Ever Need is a handy reference to help you prepare for any kind of job interview. Download it free now Preparation First of all, do your homework well. Get as much information as possible about the company you are hoping to join. Note one or two questions to ask about the organizationâs structure or possibly âif Iâm selected, when can I expect to join the company?â or âif Iâm selected, is there any particular field for which I should prepare more?â. On the other hand, never ask questions like âam I selected?â and donât ask your interviewers to select you since that will only reveal your lack of confidence.eval As for the questions that youâll be asked, be ready for the most common: Tell me about yourself. Which is your greatest strength and greatest weakness? How would your enemy / friend describe you? Why should we hire you? More examples and recommended answers can be found here.eval For the Venue Dress Formally A light color shirt and dark color pants are best for men, possibly with a tie. For women, it depends more on your culture. Remember that you are not going for a fashion show, so avoid bright colors. Also make sure that you donât use heavily-scented perfumes or deodorants. Come Early Turn up at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Make yourself comfortable with the environment, maybe even by talking with other candidates if there are any. Since companies tend to monitor your behavior at the venue, you want them to see you as a social and easy-going person. Come Equipped Bring copies of your CV and relevant certificates/diplomas, but keep them in your lap until youâre are asked for them. Plus, you should always carry a pen with you. At the Interview Be Polite When your chance arrives, knock at the door before you enter the room. Greet the interviewers collectively but if there are women in the panel, greet them first. Wait a few seconds before taking the chair, giving the interviewers the opportunity to ask you to sit. If they donât ask you in a few seconds, then wait no longer and sit down. They may be giving you a stress test. Another example. If one of the interviewers eventually asks you a question while you are answering another interviewerâs question, donât stop your current response abruptly to answer the new question. Instead, politely tell the asking interviewer that you will come to their question and then continue where you left off. Similarly, donât interrupt your interviewers. Be Calm and Collected There really is no reason to be nervous, this is not going to be your last interview so be cool and comfortable. Try not to wander your gaze among the different objects in the room. Look at the interviewer with a light smile and when they ask you a question, look them in the eyes while you reply. Sometimes interviewers may start talking among themselves to test how you react to such a situation. Be Confident, But Not Arrogant The interviewer may ask you questions on topics about which they have no knowledge so answer questions with confidence. If the interviewer points out a mistake, accept it. Do not try to correct an interviewer unless you are sure that you are right and it is entirely necessary but of course, always do it in a very polite manner. Be Honest If an interviewer asks you a question which you donât know, tell the interviewer so. No person has infinite knowledge on everything happening in this world. If you lie or say something you are not sure about, then it will be a very black mark. The panel may have seen hundreds of people like you and can understand a lie from truth just by looking at you. Be As Brief As You Can Remember that time is very precious. When asked to talk about yourself, talk more about your professional qualifications than personal qualifications. Make answers brief and up to the point. Donât try to show your entire knowledge while answering a simple question, or you may not get time to bring out the main points. Only elaborate an answer when asked to do so. Light Jokes are OK A mild joke during the interview is fine but you donât want to appear like a joker. Also, avoid personal jokes and comments. Remember Your Prepared Questions Towards the end of the interview, interviewers will usually ask you whether there is anything that youâd like to know. Ask one or two of the previously prepared questions and no more, as the interviewer is supposed to interview you and not vice-versa. Make Your Exit Confidently When the interview is over, remember to collect everything you brought with you. Do not push the chair violently, move it quietly. Thank the interviewers and leave. After walking out the door, do not look back unless they call you. I hope these tips help you next time youâre in the intervieweeâs chair. All the best. How to Cope with Stress in the Workplace
How to Cope with Stress in the Workplace The following is a guest post by Samantha Rivers. Her bio follows. Workplace stressors, like tight deadlines and large workloads, can be overwhelming. Letting stress get out of hand can not only impact the quality of your work, it can contribute to health issues both minor to severe, ranging from headaches to an increased risk of heart disease. Whether constant interruptions, taking on more tasks than you have time in the day for, or forgetting to take care of yourself have you stressed out at work, there are ways to cope and find your center of calm. These tips can help. Stay Focused by Eliminating Interruptions The workplace is full of interruptions. All the stopping and starting can make it difficult to get in a rhythm and put you behind in your work, which is not good for managing stress. Eliminating interruptions is a great way to stay focus and stay on top of your work. Reduce interruptions by setting aside a certain window of time during the day to answer emails all at once, instead of every 10 minutes, block out office chatter by closing your office door, if you have one, or wear noise canceling headphones if youre in a cubicle. Take Care of Yourself Outside of the Workplace Taking care of yourself outside of the workplace is often forgotten, but it is important for mental health and reducing stress. A lack of sleep can increase stress hormones. Making sleep a priority can help reduce stress hormones, which can translate to feeling less stressed in the workplace. Eating healthy is also important to managing stress and some foods may even help reduce stress. Some stress busting foods to add to your diet include berries, cashews, chamomile tea, and oatmeal. Take Time Off to Recharge Working non-stop can cause burnout, which can be avoided if you actually use your vacation and personal time off days. Taking time off from work can help reduce stress hormones. Whether you plan a relaxing trip lounging on the beach or stay home, getting away from work can help recharge your batteries. Dont Be Afraid to Say No Its easy to feel the need to take on every task thrown your way, especially when trying to make a good impression in the workplace. Saying yes to everything can cause your responsibilities to get out of hand, leading to a stressful work environment. Sometimes, the best thing to do is say no. Learning to say no can help keep your workload manageable. Pick Up a Fun Side Job Taking on another job when trying to cope with stress in the workplace may seem counter-intuitive, but having an additional source of income can help take some of the pressure off of your regular 9 to 5 job. When you enjoy what you do, it doesnt feel like work. Look for a fun side job or freelance work that you can enjoy. Picking up a side job is great for those who like to socialize and need the flexibility of working on their own schedule. Utilize Tech and Apps for Managing Stress Tech and apps can help you manage stress both in and outside of the workplace. Online tools, like The Huffington Posts GPS for the Soul, offer tips for de-stressing your life, while apps like Headspace help users develop breathing techniques to deal with stress and learn meditation practices, respectively. Ask for Help Dont be afraid to ask for help or accept it. Sometimes the best way to reduce stress is to have the support of others. Help may come in the form of other coworkers taking on some of your tasks or job duties or it could simply be talking about whats going on to a trusted friend or loved one or seeking counseling. Talk to your supervisor about ways to reduce stress in your job, such as getting support from coworkers or changing your workspace to make it more conducive to getting your work done. Regain Your Sense of Calm When workplace stress gets out of control, it can have a negative impact on your overall quality of life. Making these simple changes can help you combat stress and find your sense of calm. Samantha Rivers Samantha Rivers is a freelance writer who lives in Chicago (Go Cubs!).
